Workplace Wellbeing

With employee health and wellness firmly placed on the ESG agenda, Corporate wellbeing has never been more important for both companies and their employees.

Britain's Healthiest Workplace survey in 2017 found that an average of 30.4 working days a year were lost due to sickness, or illness-related underperformance. Supporting employees to make informed decisions about their diet and lifestyle choices can have a significant effect on their health and consequently on a company’s productivity. With 48% of employees asking for wellness to be included within their rewards package (source), this is also key for increasing employee satisfaction.

To optimise the opportunity for supporting employee health and wellness at work I offer corporate clients a range of options.

Menopause at work

Approximately 13 million women in the U.K are either peri- or post-menopausal. Whilst women in their 40s and 50s may be at the pinnacle of their careers, the effects of menopause can leave them struggling with debilitating symptoms such as brain fog, hot flushes, fatigue and anxiety. These symptoms can last up to 15 years.

Nuffield health research (2014) found:

Approximately two thirds of women say there is a general lack of support and understanding.

I strongly believe in the need to increase the understanding of the menopause throughout the corporate world and remove its current taboo. For those feeling the effects of menopause, following straight forward nutritional and lifestyle advice can have dramatic effects on reducing menopausal symptoms.

This can enable women to continue functioning at their previous high level, rather than feeling compelled to seek lower level roles or drop out of work altogether.

I work with HR and D&I teams to understand the best way to support your employees.
